From our heritage range of ‘Parlick’ Sheep’s Milk Cheese, ‘Beacon Fell’ Traditional Creamy Lancashire PDO and ‘Forest of Bowland’ Cheddar to the traditional regionals and our sensational blends, all of our cheese is proudly handmade at our Mill Farm dairy, in the same village we have been making cheese for over 80 years. Our years of cheesemaking expertise means there is not much we do not know about creating and crafting delicious artisanal cheese.
Cheesemaking sits at the heart of our business. The daily routine of milking, cheddaring, maturing and grading continues in much the same way that it has for generations, with all of our cheeses made in-house by our expert cheese crafters on a farm which has been in our family for generations. We work with a small group of local farmers, based in the luscious Lancashire countryside that surrounds our dairy. This ensures that we can guarantee quality throughout the process from the grass to the plate.
All our creamy Lancashire cheeses are made to exacting standards, using tried and tested techniques of cheesemaking, and using only Bowland milk sourced from local farms. This rich milk produces Grandma Singletons Famously Strong Lancashire, the leading brand of Lancashire cheese in the UK, and the strongest Lancashire cheese available in the UK.
As well as making the cheese, we cut it, slice it, grate it, blend it and pack it ourselves. State-of-the-art machinery and artisan traditional techniques work in perfect harmony to give us the capability and flexibility to produce in many formats; parchments, wedges, cubed, grated, sliced, waxed, wheels and blocks. We are always open for requests, please contact our team with any queries you have on our cheese formats.
