Based in the rolling hills of Lancashire, our rich history in handcrafted cheesemaking means there is not much we do not know about creating, crafting, sourcing and selecting some of the finest cheeses the UK has to offer. We are proud to use techniques and recipes passed down through the Singleton family over decades.
Our History

We’ve been handcrafting beautiful, traditional cheeses since 1934 and are still proud to be able to use some of these original techniques and recipes today. It is this inherited expertise and craftsmanship that runs through the very fabric of our business today, providing a solid foundation of knowledge to fuel ongoing development and innovation.

A recent opportunity to delve further into our history has highlighted that as a family, we’ve actually been serving our community for much, much longer than this. We come from a long line of dairy farmers that have been nurturing and investing in the farming community since 1745.

Our customers will know us for the high level of service we pride ourselves on. We have made cheese in the same village for over 80 years, yet our customer base spans the globe. Our multiple awards from some of the most prestigious cheese judging bodies in the world speak for themselves, as do our two Queens Awards for International Export. Our biggest accomplishment, however, is the culture we’ve nurtured over the decades. A culture of passion, pride, innovation and quality.

Our services

Our community is the lifeblood of our business. Our community is not just limited to the village we work in, or our staff and their families; it includes the neighbouring farmers who supply our milk every day, our regional specialist cheesemaking partners from around the UK, our customers and our buyers. Our community is so important to the products that we create and the services we provide that we decided to celebrate them in our brand.

About our milk

Singletons & Co takes pride in being firmly rooted in our local community. We are still located less than five miles from where the Singleton family started farming almost three hundred years ago. This part of Lancashire is home to our dairy, our farmers, our staff and many of our loyal customers. It seems only right that we should also support local charities.

Our Charities

Singletons & Co is only as strong as the people that comprise our constituent parts: our long-serving staff, our farmers – the custodians of our local landscape – and our loyal customers. We wanted to take the opportunity to introduce you to some of the people that transform Singletons & Co from a company into a community:
